Getting your test results
When requesting tests with your doctor, please also discuss the best way to follow up with them to review the results of the test. Your doctor can send your results to you by SMS or by email but they may suggest that it is more appropriate to discuss in person or on the telephone with them.
If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment urgently, we will contact you.
Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:
- in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- in your Patient Access account
- your doctor can send you a text message or email with the results
- phone reception for an update from your doctor. We kindly ask for you not to call about test results on Monday mornings if possible, as this is the busiest time of the week for the practice staff. Instead, please call us between 2.00pm and 5.00pm
- Please note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the patient themselves unless they have nominated a next of kin to discuss their health issues with our staff.
